You were a great man and you will truly be missed!
His dedication and insight made him a Mentor. His openness and putting of others first, made him a Friend.
Bill will be truly missed. He was not only a great friend, mind, and mentor. Bill was someone who was always willing to give advice and a smile, that would make you feel better about yourself. His kind, laid back, and approachable demeanor, made gleaning information from his vast knowledge fun. i loved listening to his fishing stories and they, along with him will be truly missed.
Rest peacefully Mr. Johnson.
I worked with Bill AND his Dad when I started Ingersoll in the OEM Department. Both were truly great friends and I will always remember their kindness 37 years ago. God Bless Bill's family, what a tragic loss. Rest in peace, my friend.
Definitely one of the finest individuals I have had the pleasure to work with. I appreciate all the help and knowledge I received from Bill. He will truly be missed!
Bill was gracious with this time and generous with his knowledge. He was kind, good humored and approachable on any matter. His opinion was respected by his colleagues throughout the world.
I am very sorry to hear that Bill has passed. I worked with Bill for many years and I had the highest regard for his technical knowledge. In addition, Bill and I traveled together where I truly got to know him. Bill was always friendly and quick to smile. I have good memories of our time together.
Very sorry for your loss Mary and to Bill’s family. I was so blessed to have seen Bill hours before he passed. I loved Bill like a brother and he was one of my best friends at Ingersoll. Bill was always the person you went to as a young engineer for advice. His knowledge endless and experience key to the success of the company. As a friend, he was warm, thoughtful and generous. I had several great fishing trips with Bill which was surely his second favorite thing to do beyond designing tools. We met almost every morning for coffee in his office for great business and personal conversations. I cherish those memories. I will miss him greatly and again so happy to tell him last Thursday morning of all his friends that were thinking of him. Thanks Mary for letting me have that time with Bill.
Last week we received the sad news about Bill's terminal illness and we were shocked to hear at the beginning of this week that he had already died.
We have known Bill for decades and he is greatly respected by all of us for his enormous and valuable technical knowledge and always good advice.
He will always be remembered for his kindness and good humor. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and family on the great loss of Bill!
