Agnes Stabenow

Agnes F. Stabenow, 93, died 4:30 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006 in Alden Alma Nelson Manor. Born on April 20, 1913 in Freeport, IL. Daughter of Walter and Theresa (Blust) Liddle. She married Kearney A. Stabenow in Galena on June 4,1932. He died in 1982. They resided in Freeport from 1932 until 1939 when they moved to Rockford. Member of St. James Catholic Church for over 60 years. Pastmember of Women of the Moose.Agnes was a very kind, loving, and good natured person who accepted what life brought her way to deal with, and made the best of it. She was also well aware ofothers and liked to help them in any way in which she could. She was an excellentcook, truly enjoyed washing, ironing, and cleaning. For many years she cleaned theconvent at St. James, and also the convent at Muldoon High School, where she loved all the nuns. She also did washing and ironing for others in her home and did cleaning in other people's homes.
