Anna Adeline Janik was born January 8, 1921 in Moline, Illinois to the union of William J. Meylor and Muriel Mauk. She graduated from Rockford Central High School in 1939 and in 1942 she married Frank C. Janik who was then serving in the Navy during World War II. Anna contributed to the War effort by going to work at National Lock and worked there, J.I. Case and at Unison as an inspector until she retired at the age of 70. Anna and Frank were blessed with a daughter, Donna R. Woodard and her husband Houston “Mac” Woodard, who has always been like a son to her. Anna is also survived by her grandsons, Randall and Mark Woodard (Rhonda); great -grandchildren Mark Woodard (Payten) and Brittany Smith; great-great- grandchild Ellie Woodard; two nieces, Suzanne and Michelle and their children. Anna was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband, a beloved brother, William (Ruth) Meylor and sister, Rosemary (Arnold) Akre.
Anna will be forever remembered for the strength of her personality and her zest for life. She cherished her family, her faith and her friends. She loved bowling, camping, boating, and listening to country music with her family of friends in Illinois and Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 in Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth St., Rockford with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating. Visitation from noon until the time of the service. Burial at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street.
