Catherine Colombi

Lifelong Rockford resident, Catherine "Kate" Colombi, 98, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in Swedish American Hospital. She wass born November 11, 1909.Married James Colombi Sr. in Rockford on October 20, 1928. Lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church, Giuseppe Verdi Auxiliary, and American Lombardi Auxiliary. Kate was an avid Bingo and Bocce player. She was also a Chicago Cubs fan. She loved to bake, cook, and spend time with her family & friends.She is survived by her son, James T. (Rosi) Colombi Jr.,Rockford. Daughters, Patricia (Bill) Wierman, of Rockford and Catherine (Joseph) Vincent, Littleton, CO15 grandchildren; Deborah (Alan) Ryan, Gary, Bob, & Mary Ryan;Mike (Laura) Colombi, Dave, Jimmy III, Bob, and Carl Colombi; Leslie (Mike) Emerson, Tami Colombi-Lind, Alex (Joanie) Colombi, Doug Colombi, Michelle Wierman, & Willie (Tammy) Wierman. 25 Great grandchildren and 3 Great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, James Colombi Sr. Also predeceased by her son Phil and daughter Rosemarie.Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007 in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. David Beauvais officiating. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 30, 2007 in SUNDBERG FUNERAL HOME LTD. with a Rosary Service to follow. Visitation also at St. James Catholic Church on Monday, 9:00 a.m. to time of service. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
