Lorenza "Linda" Silva, 58 passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 in her home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. She is resting with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born Mar. 28, 1950 in San Pedro, Mexico, the daughter of Manuel and Cristina Nanez. Married Joel T. Silva in Belvidere in 1970. She was a loving mother that took care of her family. She attended First Hispanic Church of God. She is survived by her husband, Joel, 3 sons, Joel, Jr., Elias, and Charles, all of Rockford, a sister, Juana Bonilla of Oregon, a brother, Jose Nanez of California, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, a brother Raphael and a sister Manuela "Nellie".Visitation from 4 - 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 in First Hispanic Church of God, 2411 W. State St., with the funeral to begin at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Noel Ayala will officiate. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL.
