Lou Smith Obituary

Lou Smith, 70, died 7:40 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born March 7, 1938 in Compton, IL. She is the daughter of Mansfield & Flora (Harrolle) Aronson. She married Oakley W. Smith in Rockford on August 4, 1956. He predeceased her on May 28, 1996. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She is survived by her two sons, Douglas O. (Linda) Smith, Milwaukee, WI and Dana (Jennifer) Smith, Caledonia, IL; five grandchildren, David, Patrick, Kane, Payton and Samantha. She is also survived by a half brother, and brothers & sisters-in-law with who she maintained a continuing bond.Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2008 in Sundberg Funeral Hom, Ltd., followed by services 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in the funeral home. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
