Ted Szulaka, 81, died in the loving home of his daughter, Rose, after a long illness on February 27, 2009. Born Sept. 24, 1927 in Kniarze, Ukraine, the son of Jakiw "Jack" and Anastasia (Siryj) Szulaka. They preceded him in death. Married Nada "Nadia" Rodak in Chicago on May 4, 1952. She predeceased him Oct. 5, 1996. He moved to Rockford in 1954 and lived there until 2000. He was employed by Greenlee Textron until retiring. Ted was a proud member of Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church. Survivors: his daughter, Rose Szulaka of Woodridge, IL, a sister, Anna (Alex) Nimczenko of Medinah, IL, Godsons, Jack and Craig Clark of Rockford, sister-in-law, Susan O. Clark of Rockford, brother-in-law, Mike (Ann) Rodak of Rockford, and many nieces and nephews. Service 10:00 a.m., Wed., March 4, 2009 in Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church, with Fr. Basil Aden and Fr. Bohdan Kalyniuk officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation at Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N.
